All Is Not As It Seems

Ami Hicken King writes mixed genre historical fiction set in the Arizona Territory of the late 1870s where there’s a fine line between good and bad, and if you look hard enough, there’s something redeemable in everyone. The books are a blend of Western adventure, justice, mystery, loyalty, and unforgettable characters who despite their circumstances can be humorous and relatable.
Lawlessness & the Law is a four book series set in the Arizona Territory following the oddly and deeply intertwined lives of a Civil War vet and his gang; two young boys “kidnapped” by the gang; a by-the book-sheriff; a Federal Marshal; and Mack Pennington, a corrupt business magnate from the “Eastern States.”
Each book can be read as a stand-alone but the stories are interconnected by each character’s relationship to Pennington.
Currently available:
The Reluctant Bandit: Lawlessness & the Law, Book 1

Here is where history, reflections, and shenanigans visit and mingle. In this tiny domain of the universe, I spend time thinking and writing about a range of sundry things, events, or thoughts that I find curious, humorous, or thought-provoking.
My blogs include historical tidbits, character profiles, and reflections related to novel writing.
