All is not as it seems

Hello, Friday Fools!

Time has gotten away from me this week and my wires are a little short-circuited. I didn't even realize that it's Friday until it was nearly over! πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I've taken my circus on the road and my mojo is all off. We're having a lovely visit with family in Seattle while the dogs are having a spoil-fest with my lovely friend M and her partner MJ. I'm talking--the dogs will send us packing when we come home and cry for M and MJ to return. I already knew Flanders had a crush on M...so there's that. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Pre-dinner I was in a panic. I forgot it was Friday and didn't have anything to say--who, me? I know, right? 😁 Then I remembered that I just happened to see these murals today down in Ballard where I grew up, and thought of my logo that I love so. The first one looks very similar, don't you think? Maybe a bird relative. I thought I'd share these and leave. When I was creating the header I almost added a chicken to the bird, but thought, What are the chances? Post dinner, the chicken arrived (see Tomfoolery below).

A bit of trivia: did you realize that my middle name is spelled like chicken without the "C"? The tree was in the way of the last image and there was no way around it. So I had to add that last not so great image of the "Fat Hen" to prove myself wrong--there was chicken to be had πŸ”πŸ₯³πŸ’œ I'm also sorry the images are cropped oddly--another thing I need to work on. 😬

The Fat Hen is across the street from today's Tomfoolery. When I realized that I had these bird pics, but nothing to say the Universe gave me some material as well as big hint in the form of a chicken that popped into my mind, but I didn't think I could use. πŸ”

There are plenty of squirrels running around here--but, I still have to say "squirrel" every time I see one, despite my boys saying, "Mom, there are tons of squirrels here..." You know, with that tone. 🐿🐿🐿 I do it, anyway πŸ˜πŸ˜‰ What I haven't been doing much of is snapping cloud pics. β˜οΈπŸŒ€β›…οΈπŸŒ¦πŸŒ§ I'll get on that.

There's been a lot of Tomfoolery this week, but the one the Universe dropped into my lap for The Friday Tomfoolery is how Chief kind of sort of tricked the boys into "plant based" ice cream. Toward the end of dinner there was a proclamation of walking to ice cream at some undisclosed location. The boys' response to that was queries about distance and suspicions that it was some vegan ice cream. They were seriously suspicious and acting like it was some communist plot from the 1950's. We knew nothing. He shared nothing. We walked a short distance to a cute little ice cream place and it was all good. That is, until I pointed out the sandwich board outside with the words "plant based." Yes, the sky might've fallen for a hot sec there while we socially distanced next to the dreaded sign, but the recovery was quick. I didn't care either way. I'm still unreconciled with eating animals and animals byproducts these days--I do it, sometimes with guilt and sometimes with great delight (that sounds horrible writing it, but I do like food). Throwing the boys into a frenzy about being somehow tricked--priceless. That wasn't even my doing (despite pointing out the sign). πŸ˜‚ I just watched it happen.

I'm burning the midnight oil--signing out, now. Hopefully, this all makes sense. I plan to be back on track next week. πŸ‘πŸΌ

I hope everyone is well and that you find something funny, curious, or thought-provoking to brighten your days.

Take care!

~Ami
