Hello, Friday Fools!
This week's Friday Tomfoolery is our City Slicker send-off. We're actually going to the dude ranch! I wasn't sure if we would with Covid and thought we might be cancelling this vacation, too. We've been socially distancing and only going out when we must, but now we're going out for fun. It feels both wrong and necessary. Wrong because we've been doing all the things--we wear our masks, wash our hands, disinfect, keep our distance, and try not to touch much--I feel like we're crawling out of our hole into the "real" world, not the little necessary trips. But still, Chief hasn't had a real rest and vacation in over a year. He needs this and it'll be good to be out in the open, away from the city.
I've made peace with leaving our hidey-hole, and you already know that I bought the anti-butt crack denim, the riding boots, and a hat (I refrained from a getting an actual cowboy hat, but it was close--it still might happen because the ranch sells them...🤨), now you get hear about my horsey dreams. Yup. I'm convinced that I will find a horsey bestie and we'll spend our time taking selfies and yucking it up. The funny thing is--I don't usually take selfies. 😂 I hope it doesn't turn into one of those Instagram moments--"Instagram" (my idea of what's going to happen) vs. "Reality" (lack of horsey cooperation or a barn-sour horse). Stay tuned, I'll let you all know.
I'm was going to leave you with an old pic of Chief wearing a neighbor's vintage cowboy hat because I can't find the pic of him riding a mule 😂😂😂😂 (remember that disorganization I was talking about last newsletter? Heidi, it's on my list--promise!), but I can't even do that! I'm having problems pulling it from dropbox (adding that to my list, too 🤦🏻♀️). Jon had to ride the mule because it was the tallest and best fit for his 6'4" frame. Oh the grief we gave him. Poor guy. I've also scheduled this to send out, so I hope I did it correctly! 🤞🏼 It's been a week of mishaps. I need to slow down.
